Fresh beginnings, personal independence and natural curiosity spawned a new growing passion for athletic pursuits while at university. I still felt ‘bottom of the ladder’ for quite a while, and it took an array of key mentors, coaches and teachers to gradually tease me out of my comfort zone, face my fears and feel a sense of accomplishment.

The old saying goes – ‘if at first you don’t succeed, try, try, try again..’

Despite gradual acquired fitness, weight had always been a struggle, and more so as I got older into my 40s.

That’s until recently. Further education and extended research has allowed me to break down the myths associated with the science and psychology of weight-loss, and I now have a fantastic formula that works for the long term.

You can see from my timeline, I launched Revitalise Fitness in 2015. I didn’t want to offer a standard gym or fitness training service. I’ve also heard of so many common fears and misperceptions from people when they hear about personal training. I wanted to correct the myths.

We all know what’s good for us. We’ve already got access to plenty of healthy recipes, diet plans and workouts from magazines or Instagram, but do these inspire you to get up and start tomorrow and maintain it? Who’s supporting you week in, week out when the going gets tough, who’s empowering you to sustainable change?

How do you start? How do you get into the right mindset to maintain healthy weight-loss and other goals after four weeks – after a year? How do you resolve injuries and back pain before exercising? Who is your all-in-one personal lifestyle guide, confidant, exercise tutor and nutrition coach? Who is your personal mindset coach and is going to listen to your issues and understand YOU as a person and ultimately figure out what will make ‘you tick?’

I’ve experienced many of the issues that you have. I know what it’s like, whether it’s personal confidence, a little social anxiety. Feeling self-aware because of body size and shape or having a fear of hurting oneself when learning something new. But I also know HOW to take that vital step out of the comfort zone, when the moment is right.

When I’m not running my business, you’ll also find me on the Thames, still ‘messing around’ in rowing boats; occasionally running with the local DMVAC. Give me a mountain or fell-walking challenge and you’ll also find me there, whether it’s the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District, Surrey Hills or an Alpine trail. I love the outdoors!

My qualifications

I am a qualified Master Trainer through the European Institute of Fitness, and hold level 3 specialisms in strength and sports conditioning, clinical exercise and exercise referral, nutrition and weight management, core strengthening and functional training.

I am trained as a Mindset and Motivation Coach. I also have over 15 years rowing coaching experience. I hold public liability insurance.
