What is mobile Personal Training?

This is the most time effective way not just to get fitter, but also to receive tailored nutrition and lifestyle coaching without the distractions of a group or gym setting. When life is busy, you don't have to worry about finding the extra time for travelling, or reduce the length of your workout due to traffic. I will come to you whether you're based in Dorking, or out in one of the villages within the Surrey Hills.

Where to start?

If you're considering a health change, simply get in touch  and book a complimentary sit down session with me. This can be at a local cafe, home or other convenient location. If you're feeling nervous, unsure or never tried personal training before, this is a great session to relax, learn more, share your thoughts, get your mind into gear and add clarity.  If you're ready to move ahead, we'll do a quick safety check. This can last anything between 60-90 minutes. If you're looking at a weight loss goal, we'll also do a nutrition and lifestyle assessment.

Decide a route to take

If you want to achieve your goals faster, you may decide to train with me two to three times a week. Alternatively you might prefer to train once a week or get a review once a month.  For people who have busy lives, and want an efficient workout to fill in a spare gap - you may find half hour sessions suitable.

Postural & biomechanical check

To ensure your long term safety, your next session will also include a moment to check for postural imbalances. This isn't a service that you get at an average gym. We are all designed differently, so its important that the exercise you take on isn't going to cause you more harm. Don't worry, this isn't something to feel nervous about - but if you do experience back pain or similar tension, its a way of discovering how you can reduce, or even correct the problem.

I'll bring the gym to you!

You don't need a large space if you're training at home. A small room is all you need. Alternatively, a garden or a local park is fine if you want to train somewhere different.

You don't have to worry about equipment - I'll bring the tools, stretch mats, even a rowing machine if you like the idea of learning to row. There's an array of skills you can pick up - from using suspension training, kettlebells, boxercise to free-weights. Just be prepared to enjoy the process!

Preparing for a training session

I recommend wearing loose clothing, shorts, legging or similar. Comfortable gym shoes are useful. If you're hoping to improve your running fitness with me, I'll suggest some footwear options for the environment where you're based.

Water is a must - so keep a bottle handy. Eating something 1-2 hours before a training session is also vital to ensure you have enough energy.

Staying on track

When work and family life gets busy, its easy to lose focus and motivation. In these cases we often need a reminder how to step back into the best frame of mind that can bring help us achieve happier, successful results.

You'll receive regular motivation and mindset reviews throughout your training period with me, and you can also receive an ongoing complimentary coaching session for each year that you choose to carry on with your lifestyle goals.

Assisted stretching

It's not all work you know! If your goal is to improve mobility, athleticism and reduce tension, then you can ask for a focus on assisted stretching either for half, or at the end of your session.

Assisted stretching not only relaxes you, it increases blood circulation, reduces blood pressure as well as decreases muscle tension and helps you sleep easier. Don't forget to ask about it in your consultation!

Isn't Personal Training just for able bodies and young people?

In a nutshell - No!  Neither is it just about barking orders at you. If you prefer the 'tough-talking sergeant major' and wants to be pushed very hard, then let me know at your consultation!

You don't have to be fit. You don't have to have a perfect body. You don't have to be sporty. All I ask is - is to give a try. You will be amazed at what you can accomplish!
